The craftmanship and tooling of the gimbal are by far the best. The movement and operation are smooth and flawless along with the excellent points of balance. I couldn't be happier and look forward to enjoying the Katana Pro Green Gimbal head, Kevin Dooley Safari edition every chance I get.
Been using it, nice fit and durable. Very lightweight.
I ordered this tripod leveling head, at the same time as I ordered my tripod. However, I ordered the tripod with the compact apex, due to weight savings (Wildlife photography @ 13,000ft + and long walks, every oz counts). How ever, when I went to install it, it does not work with the compact head (see photos), so I guess I have to order the regular head now and spend an extra $180.... but the product is very sturdy and well build, like everything from ProMediaGear. The new one comes with a leveling bubble, which will be very useful.
I'm a pastor. I use my camera to take funeral pictures, senior pictures, and pictures of church leaders. Your rosette attachment helps tremendously with shadow control and flash glare in glasses. It is very high quality and allows for my speedlight to be off the camera making for much better lighting in my pictures.
I got this to use with a profoto a2, it handles the job well, the only way I can think of that it could be improved would be if you could lock it in between its portrait and landscape orientations, but that would be asking a lot I’m sure, and plausibly an offset arm or bracket could achieve that off center positioning for the strobe. I think the way it’s designed to center your strobe does make sense from a standpoint of weight distribution for hand held photography so I suppose for a more off camera position a light stand may be a better option. That having been said I think this will be great in run and gun scenarios like events, where I want a soft fill flash, I have space to incorporate a small softbox and it’s all contained to the camera body with this bracket.
Really useful and now indispensable addition to my gear. I use it all the time to steady my longer lenses. Now I'm a bit older, I find it harder to keep a heavier lens up without a tripod for any length of time. But tripods as great as they are, are limiting to mobility when moving about on country. This handle can be used with or with the Arca clamp, to provide sturdy support when shooting handheld. I was amazed how much steadier my handheld aim was when using it.
This tripod exceeded my expectation! Smooth and easy to extend the legs. Nice leveling feature. I use a small Starrett cross test Level to verify level for panoramic shooting. It seems very solid. I use it for a very long lens with a gimbal head, with a panoramic head or, as in the sample lightening image, with long exposures (21 seconds in this example).
I love the ProMediaGear L-Bracket (PLCBGR10). I have purchased three of them so far. One for my R6 Mark II, one for my R5 Mark II, and one for the soon to be released R6 Mark III. When not on a tripod, I use them in conjunction with a MiniFocus Arca clamp and a Nitze side handle with a short offset Arri connector. Having the left-side handle mounted to the L-Bracket by an Arca Clamp allows for the quick removal of the handle to mount on a tripod in portrait mode. One thing I really like about the ProMediaGear L-Bracket is that they provide 100% clearance of all cables (microphone, USB C, headphone, HDMI, and remote cables) and there is absolutely no conflict with the movement of the touch screen. I tried three other L-Brackets before I landed on ProMediaGear. Each of the previous brackets failed; one was too flimsy, and two others interfered with the operation of the camera. ProMediaGear was the clear winner. Just wished I had found them first.
I needed advise on how to replace my panning knob for the Katana pro, Promedia customer service "answered" the phone and send me the information via email with a video on how to do it properly, Big thank s to PMG good solid equipment and good service to back it up.
I purchased this to replace the existing, not-so-great, connector on my BlackRapid Sport Breath Strap to connect it to the QD on the lens foot of my Sony 200-600 lens. It has worked out beautifully.
The 8” Arca is the perfect plate for my 600mm telephoto
I purchased the junior Katana head coupled with a 34 series carbon fiber tripod for a lightweight hiking solution and could not be more satisfied. I also own the full size Katana head along with a 42 series tripod for less adventurous situations and am pleased with this setup also. These items are precise, machined devices that are very stable when "tuned in" and in my opinion worth the price. Count me as a very pleased customer.
I found a ziplock back of parts at an estate sale about a year ago. Finally sat down and tried to figure out what I had and was delighted to see that it was the ProMedia boomerang flash bracket, minus several parts. Thanks ProMedia for having the parts in stock and delivered in just a few days. Now I just need an event to debut the rig!!

- fast free shipping
- packed well
- 2nd pmg tripod purchased
- very pleased with purchase & buying experience
I am really liking the L bracket because I like that I can articulate my OM-1 Mk II LCD screen while using it. I also purchased the QD Quick Release Plug Connector for Camera Straps or Carabiners so that I could adapt my Blackrapid strap to use with the L bracket, which I really like. These products appear very well designed and solid.

"This tripod is the strongest and most-rigid model I've used, ready for your largest gear, heavy winds, and other tough photography conditions."

"Using the TR344 with heavy gear and long lenses was easy and enjoyable, thanks to the compact profile and lighter weight of the whole package, without any corresponding compromise in height or performance."
