Overview

The ProMediaGear TR42MX Carbon Fiber Monopod is durable and lightweight support perfect for everyday carry. At 1.6lbs, it is perfect for daily shoots.

But unlike other ProMediaGear monopods, this one does not have an Arca-Swiss clamp. It does have a standard tripod mounting thread. This means you can attach it directly to your camera or mount a ball head on it.

The TR42MX goes up to 61-inches or around 1.5 meters. This is perfect for the average user's height. But it might be too small for taller users.

Moreover, this monopod can handle cameras and lenses of up to 70 lbs. Despite its small stature, it can carry large camera systems easily.

Other features include solid stainless steel spikes hidden under the rubber foot. The spikes are great for soft surfaces while the rubber feet are better suited for smooth surfaces.

Lastly, this monopod includes a neoprene leg wrap and a carrying strap

TR42MX Carbon Fibre Monopod

Very pleased with this monopod for my Nikon Z9 camera. Great to take on hikes where a tripod is too heavy to carry. Love the changeable rubber foot/spike and its super light weight. Arrived in New Zealand in excellent condition. Travelling to USA National Parks with it July-September.

My old 3 legged thing monopod looks like a toothpick next to this beast. The reason for taking one star off has to do with the rubber foot. Robus and RRS have standard threads at the bottom to accommodate other foot’s like the rock claw or a stabilizing base. For the price it would have been great to have that option.

I have not used the monopod much but it appears to be very hefty yet light ….. as I am getting
older the super primes seem to be getting heavier and I will admit that at least 50% of its use is in transporting it on trails and it appears to more than sturdy enough for this challenge and will probably upgrade my Tripod soon to a Promedia version just because of how impressive this monopod is
