GT2 Tomahawk - Add on Gimbal attachment for Ball Heads

I am a happy owner of a Katana Jr. and I just acquired the GT2 Tomahawk. What a remarkably light gimbal, but so sturdy and made to the highest standards. I put it on my PMG BH50c60 Ball Head. It works with the ball head seamlessly. I highly recommend this combination. No Wimberley sidekick for me anymore! I love ProMediaGear too much. The GT2 is making its first big trip for elk in three weeks. I know it will preform admirably.

I have been using the Tomahawk GT2 on a monopod and I have to say, it’s brilliant. I was expecting the off-axis position of the camera to be an issue but it’s not. The tension controls give me a lot of control and the side mount takes off more than half a kilogram compared to the Katana Jr (also a brilliant piece of kit). The side mount actually makes this setup with a monopod, pro body and large telephoto lens very easy to carry over my shoulder while hiking longer distances. Everything is silky smooth and a pleasure to shoot with. I’m very pleased with my investment.

I purchased the GT-2 Tomahawk and TR34 Monopod for an upcoming trip to Brazil's Pantanal where I will go on a 10 day safari, utilizing truck and boat. I have never used a monopod before, but think it will be good for the open safari vehicle and a must have for the boat safaris in search of jaguars. I just don't think I will be able to hold the Canon RF 400 F2.8 for extended periods of time, all day, every day, for 10 days straight. No fault of PMG, USPS was very slow delivering the gear to Hawaii. But Mike and the team at PMG went above and beyond to make sure that I received my monopod and Tomahawk before I left for Brazil. The package arrived yesterday, and I tried the setup this morning. I had a great session photographing birds in flight and my back feels great! The Tomahawk is easy to install and works flawlessly. Build quality is what I expect from PMG and I am very happy (I also have a Katana Jr. Gimbal and a PGM Carbon Tripod). The Tomahawk and Monopod match the build quality of these other excellent PGM products. The Tomahawk is just a perfect match for the gimbal! Packaging was very secure; instructions were clear and easy to understand; and I also appreciate the PGM YouTube video instructions and overview. Prior to purchase I used the online chat and found the advice and suggestions provided to be very helpful. All in all a wonderful shopping experience. Thank you to PMG! Now, to find those jaguars!

It's simple. You get what you pay for and the GT2 Tomahawk is worth buying. It's both lightweight and strong safely securing the load of your rig and giving you peace of mind that it's not going to fall off or flex. I use mine mostly with a 50mm ball head on a Gitzo tripod with a Nikon D5/600mm lens and its rock solid. Occasionally I will use it on a Benro Supa Dupa Pro monopod and it gives the same secure and lightweight performance. I'm very happy with my purchase.
