Overview

The ProMediaGear TRBU75 Half Ball Tripod Leveling Head is a versatile accessory that lets you mount any flat base fluid head or other flat grip accessory to a 75mm bowl.

It is made of durable aluminum and has a rounded and ridged knob that ensures a secure and stable connection.

The TRBU75 is compatible with any standard 75mm ball base and can be used with ProMediaGear carbon fiber tripods with a separately available 75mm adapter.

The TRBU75 is ideal for leveling your camera or video equipment on uneven terrain or for adjusting the angle of your shots.

I ordered this tripod leveling head, at the same time as I ordered my tripod. However, I ordered the tripod with the compact apex, due to weight savings (Wildlife photography @ 13,000ft + and long walks, every oz counts). How ever, when I went to install it, it does not work with the compact head (see photos), so I guess I have to order the regular head now and spend an extra $180.... but the product is very sturdy and well build, like everything from ProMediaGear. The new one comes with a leveling bubble, which will be very useful.

Why did I wait so long‽

For my style of landscape and wildlife photography, leveling with a bowl and half ball is the only way to go. I can’t believe I waited so long to purchase something that completely streamlined and simplified my setup. The ability to stabilize the tripod however I need to, and also be able to throw it up fast if the light is changing without worrying about getting each leg exactly right is a game changer. Let your sticks (mine are TR343 since I am short) be as wonky as they want to be, and still be perfectly level in seconds with this leveling head! Currently being used to watch a nest of wren eggs in our garden.

Where have you been all my life?

I recently got the leveling ball for my tripod. Prior to receiving it, I would have to achieve level by lowering a leg or two, in increments, which is not ideal. Now, all I have to do is get close to level with the legs and finish off with the leveling ball. What a time saver! This device is a life saver when trying to achieve level with the Katana Jr. The Jr. has a nice big leveling bubble that is easy to look down on so the leveling ball is a cinch to adjust with. No more wonky horizons when panning. The picture of the eagle that is attached was taken with the Katana Jr. And the leveling ball. I snapped off 10-15 frames before the eagle disappeared and I think at least 3/4 were sharp. I owe a lot to the Katana Jr. and now, also, to the leveling ball.
