The RED® Komodo-X™ is a next-generation powerhouse that refines what made its predecessor great, offering upgraded I/O, cabling, monitoring, and remote options, as well as enhanced 4K and 6K frame rates. Despite these advancements, even the most capable camera benefits from additional support and expandability — and that’s where 8Sinn steps in.

The 8Sinn Cage for RED® Komodo-X™ delivers a precise, protective fit crafted from durable yet lightweight aluminum. This three-piece modular cage attaches securely with six mounting screws, forming a strong yet streamlined frame that preserves access to every port and control. The cage features numerous 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting points with ARRI locating pins for effortless integration with monitors, handles, and other accessories — all without adding unnecessary bulk. Weighing only 257g, it offers full protection and versatility in a sleek, balanced design trusted by filmmakers worldwide.

Complementing the cage, the 8Sinn Top Plate is a standalone accessory that can be used independently or together with the cage. Engineered to fit perfectly on the Komodo or Komodo-X body, the top plate includes three types of standard accessory threads for ultimate flexibility in rig configuration. It allows users to attach essential gear such as top handles, monitor mounts, or recorders — all while maintaining a seamless profile that complements the camera’s design.

Note: The 8Sinn Top Plate is not compatible with the RF-PL Mount KipperTie Revolva, as the plate extends beyond the camera’s top edge. For such setups, the 8Sinn 95mm Safety NATO Rail is a recommended alternative.
