Sony is launching a new camera this September 28, 2022. Eagle-eyed photographers noticed a new live video holding page with the title "New product announcement on September 28th, 2022 | Sony." The video page also mentioned that the new camera will be announced at 10:00 EDT, 15:00 BST, and 23:00 JST.

There will be no new Sony A-series camera yet though. The announcement is expected to reveal the new Sony FX30 APS-C Cinema Camera. All rumors point to the new cinema camera at the moment.

Expected Sony FX30 Specifications

Sony has not revealed any details regarding the new camera yet. However, popular Sony leak sites have speculated that the new camera will be have the same body as the Sony FX3 camera.

This new unit is expected to have 4K 120fps vide capabilities. Although the sensor will be smaller at 26-megapixels, this camera will still bring a lot of punch such as hybrid autofocus, 4K 60fps, full HD 1080p video recording, and ultra slow motion video capture through high frame rate shooting. These are not confirmed yet though and will be revealed next Wednesday.

Sony A7R V Coming Soon

Sony is on a roll this year with the arrival of the new Sony A7R V mirrorless camera. Like the Sony FX3, there are no specific details regarding this one yet.

But like previous Sony "R" releases, this new mirrorless camera will be a megapixel behemoth from the company. It will possibly carry a full frame sensor with the highest resolution from Sony at the moment.

Previously, the Sony A7R IV is well-loved for its high megapixel count - an essential feature for commercial photographers who love print high-resolution images for billboards and other commercial work.

Moreover, Sony is speculated to announce another compact camera. The Sony ZV-1 is already two years old and a replacement is already due. The new compact camera might have a similar fixed zoom lens but with better optics quality. More features that are needed for vlogging might be introduced as well.

Again, these features are still unconfirmed. It will be a few more days before we see the Sony FX30 in its full glory. Just a few more weeks and a new Sony Alpha camera will join the family.
