Nikon India went ahead and revealed the specs of the upcoming Nikon Z9 flagship camera. The official announcement is coming in a few days, but the leaked video already revealed most of its specifications.

According to the leaked video, which is found here, the Nikon Z9 will have a 45-megapixel stacked sensor and 120 fps continuous shooting.

Here are the full specifications:

  • 45-megapixel sensor
  • 8K 60P
  • 120 fps continuous shooting (no resolution specified)
  • 20 FPS RAW continuous shooting
  • Global Navigation Satellite System

  • People AI AF, as low as -7 EV
  • Unique mutli-axis articulated screen
  • Dual CFExpress Memory Card slots
  • New shooting modes
  • Shutter sound level control
  • New EN-EL18x battery chargeable via USB-C

The video presentation has not revealed the majority of the specs. Nikon might still have something up their sleeve.

Action photographers dream

The Nikon Z9 teaser 3 showcases the capability of the Nikon Z9. It displays the Car/Motorcycle AF tracking and the exciting eye-AF that can track fast-moving objects.

Though not specified in the leaks, the 120 fps continuous shooting is a dream come true for sports photographers if it is at a decent resolution.

However, if the resolution is disappointing, then the 20 FPS RAW continuous shooting is still heaven set. This feature is already similar to recording a movie through still images.

Nikon Z9 release date and availability

There is no official announcement of the Nikon Z9 release yet. But with the Nikon India leaks, the assumption is within the last week of October or the first week of November.

The price is unknown too. But the speculations lead to retail price of around $6,000 to $7,000.
