Overview

The ProMediaGear TRS344 Pro-Stix Carbon Fiber Tripod is the compact version of the TR344. The main difference is the compact flat apex. This reduces the overall folded diameter of the tripod making it perfect for traveling.

The TRS344 has a max load capacity of up 60 lbs, which is plenty for most camera setups today. It has a standard tripod head mount and when folded, it only measures 20.8-inches.

Another feature carried over from the larger ProMediaGear tripods is the 1/4 turn twist locks. This means you do not have to fully twist the locks to unfold the tripod.

Moreover, the three legs can be extended individually. The tripod's minimum height is 3.8 inches and it has a maximum height of 59 inches.

If you are using it on soft ground, you may unscrew the built-in spikes for a more planted setup. The rubber feet may be used on smoother areas.

Like other ProMediaGear products, the TRS344 is made in the USA. It also comes with a 5-year warranty for your peace of mind.

Spectacular Product

I once asked my photography professor in college for his advice on tripods. He said “it’s not something I use very often, but when you do, you want it to be a good one.” He was partial to Gitzo and had a few he’d used for decades. When I started my search for a truly great tripod, I began with the usual suspects but quickly learned about PMG. I appreciated that the company is really just some passionate engineers, here in the USA, building the best product they can. It truly shows in the end result. Everything on the tripod is tight, smooth, and beautiful. The legs slide out effortlessly and even PMG’s most compact model is rock solid. I also appreciate that if my needs change in the future, the tripods are largely modular and I can exchange the compact base for the full-size version.
